PRCA appoints team led by Professor Chris Bones to lead governance review

The Board of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has appointed a team led by Professor Chris Bones, Chair of the Board of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, to lead the comprehensive governance review into the organisation’s policies, procedures and professional frameworks.

Professor Bones’ team was selected following a competitive tender process. Participants were evaluated on criteria including expertise and examples of similar engagements, proposed processes and tailoring to the needs of the PRCA, transparency and ability to communicate to stakeholders throughout the review, diversity, timing and budget.

Professor Bones is Dean Emeritus of Henley Business School and an Emeritus Professor of Alliance Manchester Business School. He has served in non-executive director roles for a range of organisations and held senior corporate roles at Cadbury and Diageo.

He will lead a team including Simon Howard, Chair of Ince Group PLC and an experienced non-exec in public and private companies; Jag Dosanjh-Elton, who has held senior financial roles at the Royal British Legion Industries, Golding Homes and The FD Centre; and Lorraine Clinton, non-executive director at Hill Dickinson LLP, Chair of the North of England Railway Board and Chair of DB Group.

Professor Bones will provide regular reporting during the review, which will be communicated to PRCA members and the wider public.

The review was initiated by Sarah Scholefield on her appointment as Chair of the PRCA in September. Starting imminently, it aims to underpin the Association’s commitment to maintain the highest standards of transparency and ethical practice.
